Celebrating With a Partner

We at Kenya Utalii College applaud our long-term training partner, Nairobi National Park as it celebrates 75 years of existence.

In 1946, Nairobi was made the first National Park in Kenya. It was opened to the public to enjoy the diverse flora and fauna. The 117 km2 Park is the only national park in the vicinity of one of the biggest cities in Africa, where visitors get remarkable views of wildlife in their natural habitats. Its heterogeneous ecosystems including grasslands, bushlands and woodlands preserve a high diversity of terrestrial and aquatic organisms. Many of the organisms such as lions, leopards, cheetahs and hyenas have important ecological roles as the top predators. Other important species include rhinos, zebras and buffaloes as well as the rich birdlife. The park is certainly a significant genetic reservoir.

Kenya Utalii College (KUC) is a tourism and hospitality training institution highly ranked the world over. It is distinguished for producing qualified hands-on graduates. KUC students utilize the Nairobi National Park for practical knowledge of its populations and ecosystems and have benefitted from its unique experiential and exploratory education opportunities for many years. Consequently, the Tour and Travel and Tour Guiding students graduate with practical knowledge on populations, ecosystems, flora, and fauna. Nairobi National Park has therefore been an essential partner during the 47 years of training at Kenya Utalii College.

As the Nairobi National Park celebrates its 75 years of age, we at Kenya Utalii College commend and applaud our long-term training partner.
