HOUSEKEEPING OPERATIONAL SKILLS

Duration: 3 months

This course targets at equipping students with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude for Housekeeping operations especially in the hospitality industry and other commercial establishments.

Areas covered:

• Functions and role of Housekeeping Department
• Personal grooming and appearance
• Safety and security measures in the hospitality industry
• Types of floor coverings, their care and maintenance
• Use, care and maintenance of cleaning equipment
• Cleaning agents and their purpose

LAUNDRY AND DRY–CLEANING OPERATIONAL SKILLS

This course aims at equipping the students with the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for the operations of laundry and dry-cleaning plant in the hospitality institutions and other commercial establishments.

This program provides service providers knowledge in people’s skills. At the end of this unit the participants will be able to:

• Practice the basic principles of customer care in service delivery in order to enhance customer satisfaction as well as productivity.
• It provides quality service that meets corporate brand, develop good interpersonal relationship which facilitate profitable interaction with co – workers and clients.
• Understand and observe appropriate professional behavior and etiquette in their day to day dealings with a variety of customers

HOTEL INFORMATION SYSTEMS (OPERA)

AIRLINE CABIN CREW

PASTRY AND BAKERY TECHNIQUES

KITCHEN MANAGEMENT

Every catering establishment needs to have leaders in the kitchen who inspire and stimulate employees to go further than they otherwise would.

This course is designed for Chefs, Sous Chefs, Head cooks and section heads in the kitchen. It prepares them to effect leadership in the kitchen.

BANQUETING AND EVENTS TECHNIQUES COURSE

Duration: 3 months

Banqueting Operation Techniques equips the candidate with the necessary practical’s and theoretical skills on planning set up and service during events such as:

BASIC CERTIFICATE COURSE FOR PRACTICING TOUR GUIDES

Duration:  One month (full time)

Basic certification course for practicing guides is a one month theoretical and field oriented certificate programme that targets practicing Tour Guides.

The goal of this programme is to equip the trainee with knowledge and skills necessary for professional Tour Guiding in a way that enhances both the client satisfaction and environmental quality, it will also facilitate the accreditation of Tour Guides by the Tourism Regulatory Authority (TRA)

Intakes are in January, May, and September every year.
