Joreen Wanini Kinyua, a current student in Food Production at Kenya Utalii College tops in National Contest. Ms. Wanini, aged 23, emerged top in the National Contest of Top 35 under 35 Years, owing to her entrepreneurial skills, promotion of healthy living, creation of sustainable women and youth employment and mentor-ship. She is the founder and CEO of Joreen brands which majorly deals with processing of honey and peanut butter. She gets the honey from farmers in Baringo and Tanzania, and peanuts from Western Kenya and Tanzania. Ms. Wanini has supported many youth by involving them in various stages of her businesses’ value chain.
Through Joreen brands, she has been able to create employment especially through the farm where she gets raw material. She has also been able to employ staff on a part time basis,some of who get commission on sales made.
Indeed, at Kenya Utalii College, we not only train for employment, but also give room for creativity, innovation and personal growth.
