HAPPY WORLD TOURISM DAY

Tourism is one of the most relevant sectors globally. As a capacity building institution mandated to develop highly qualified and competitive human resources, we contribute towards the millions of people employed by the sector. According to United Nations (UN), the tourism sector employs one in every ten people on Earth.

KUC’s contribution towards inclusive growth revolves around offering excellent capacity building programmes for top-notch service delivery in the sector. As a government owned training institution, we ensure inclusivity by offering training opportunities to students drawn from communities all over Kenya, including the historically marginalized and those at risk of being left behind.

Despite the Covid-19 pandemic that has had massive negative impact on businesses and individuals, today we celebrate tourism’s unique ability to ensure that no one is left behind and the world recovers and moves forward. By celebrating this day, we state our commitment towards offering highly qualified and globally competitive human resources to support the recovery of the sector and beyond.

We thus reiterate the António Guterres UN Secretary General’s message thus: “On World Tourism Day, we recognize the power and potential of tourism to advance prosperity and drive inclusive, sustainable development.”

Let us all work together for a more equitable and inclusive world!  Happy World Tourism Day!
