When is the next Kenya Utalii College intake / How many Intakes does KUC have?
- The College’s main intake is October every year.
- The other intakes for select certificate courses are in January, April, July & October.
- Intake for Short courses are throughout the year at dates announced to the public.
Which courses do you offer?
Kenya Utalii College offers diploma and certificate courses. We also offer short courses, as well as tailor-made courses that address individual gaps in different areas in the hospitality and tourism industry.

What is the duration of your courses?
Diploma in Hospitality Management takes three (3) years while the rest of the diploma courses take two (2) years to study.
Certificate courses take one (1) year of study.

How does one apply for your courses?
Applications are done online via the College Application portal on application.utalii.ac.ke
Are Kenya Utalii College students entitled to Higher Education Loans Board financial support?
Yes. The College students are among beneficiaries of the students’ loans from the Tourism Training Revolving Fund through the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
How many campuses do you have?
We have Nairobi Main Campus along Thika Super Highway and Kisumu Campus (domiciled at Kanyakwar Cultural Centre behind Lake Basin Mall).
How much does one pay for accommodation?
Our accommodation fee ranges from Kes 14,000 per month.
Can I do a Diploma course with a certificate from another Institution?
Unfortunately, no you have to do our certificate course before proceeding to do a Diploma course at KUC. If you don’t qualify for a certificate course you have to do short course before doing a Certificate.
What’s the minimum grade requirement for your courses?
Diploma Courses (C plain)
Certificate Course (C minus)
Short Course (KCSE Certificate/O’ Level)
Do you source attachments for your students?
Yes, we do for those pursuing Diploma and Certificate Courses.
How much do your programmes cost?
The cost for our Full-Time programmes ranges from (Kes 153,200 to Kes 164,700) per year.
While our short courses range from (Kes 30,000 to Kes 65,000) per course.
Do you offer virtual classes?
Only for our progression courses which are offered to KUC certificate graduates on a hybrid basis.
