Kenya Utalii College (KUC) Ag. Principal & CEO, Prof. Charles Musyoki PhD, OGW, today held an introductory meeting with the College students.
The Ag. student leadership led by the acting KUC Student Association Chair (KUCSA), Mr. Rollince Omondi presented the current student leadership. He also thanked the College Administration for their continuous support and pledged his team’s commitment to work with management in advancing student welfare.
Prof. Musyoki acknowledged the important role the College plays in capacity building for the hospitality and tourism industry. He lauded the college’s competency based approach in training. The College has the best training facilities, thus giving students the best exposure and opportunities for training.
He encouraged students to continuously strive for the best by attaining as much skills as possible from their lecturers in order to achieve their dreams.
Prof. Musyoki gave his commitment to ensure that students continuously receive the best training in a conducive environment. He noted, “The College has to continuously change and adapt to meet the changes taking place in the industry.”
Towards this end, the College has embarked on expansion by setting up an ultra-new Individual Training Kitchen (ITK) facility, which will further increase student capacity and enhance training for students pursuing Food Production courses.
He encouraged students to uphold high levels of discipline, despite difficulties such as challenges as a result of Covid-19. He urged them to be wary of detractors such as drugs and alcoholism, and focus on their goals and dreams.
Prof. Musyoki informed students that the management was looking into issues that affect the quality of student life while on campus such as the student center, sports ground, library and security. However, he also challenged the students to ensure they followed all the laid down rules and regulations to ensure a smooth life while in College.
Finally, he thanked the College fraternity for their warm welcome and gave his assurance to work together with everyone to take the College to greater heights.
