The tourism and hospitality sector in Kenya has quickly picked up after a great slump as a result of the effects of Covid-19. When Covid-19 first hit the world, strict containment measures were released, and these directly saw the number of customers reduce drastically.
Suspension of international flights, social distancing, daily curfew hours, partial lockdowns….the list is long. Besides, the costly requirements for Covid-19 compliance and it’s complexity slowed down the operations of businesses. While some were forced to work under reduced capacity, other establishments had to close down completely.
Customer Service has been identified as the foundation to the recovery of the tourism and hospitality industry. With the realization that customers are keener on increased safety precautions and that these measures influence customers’ attitudes and behaviours, Kenya Utalii College (KUC) and Utalii Hotel (UH) are at the frontline in ensuring full compliance to Covid-19 safety precautions.KUC and UH has adjusted to the new customer requirements and we are putting all effort to ensure the health and safety of all our internal and external customers is not compromised.
We have fully embraced the Power of Service. Happy Customer Service Week.
